On Jan. 20, Medscape published an article highlighting a scientific statement from the American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed by the AANS and the CNS. The “AHA Scientific Statement on Rapid Evaluation for Suspected TIA” statement offers a standardized approach to rapidly evaluate patients with a suspected transient ischemic attack (TIA). Nearly one in five people who suffer a TIA will have a full-blown stroke within three months, and almost one-half of these strokes will happen within two days.
