As the Alliance of Specialty Medicine (Alliance), our mission is to advocate for sound federal health care
policy that fosters patient access to the highest quality specialty care. As patient and physician advocates,
the Alliance commends reintroduction of your legislation, the Medicare Patient Empowerment Act (H.R.
3322) which would establish a Medicare payment option for patients and eligible professionals to freely
contract, without penalty, for Medicare fee-for-service items and services, while allowing Medicare
beneficiaries to use their Medicare benefits.
