On Aug. 31, the AANS and the CNS joined the Regulatory Relief Coalition (RRC) in responding to a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Request for Information seeking input from the public about the Medicare Advantage (MA) program. The letter urged CMS to reform prior authorization in the MA program, including adopting “gold card” exemptions from prior authorization requirements and implementing the policies included in the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3173/S. 3018).
