Subject: Request for Information (RFI) on the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015

Dear Representatives Bera, Bucshon, Schrier, Burgess, Blumenauer, Wenstrup, Schneider and Miller-Meeks:

On behalf of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), representing more than 4,000 practicing neurosurgeons in the United States, we appreciate the opportunity to comment on the above-referenced RFI. Neurosurgeons take care of some of the sickest patients who face painful and life-threatening neurologic conditions such as brain tumors, debilitating degenerative spine disorders, stroke and Parkinson’s Disease. As such, it is imperative that Medicare fulfill its promise to our seniors with a sustainable program that fosters timely access to highquality neurosurgical care.
