On Aug. 4, the AANS, the CNS and the AANS/CNS Joint Cerebrovascular Section sent a letter to CMS thanking the agency for releasing a Decision Memo on Carotid Artery Stenting (CAS) and encouraging CMS to expand the indications for CAS. Earlier this year, the neurosurgical groups wrote CMS urging the agency to revisit the indications for CAS.
