Donald O. Quest Award

Named in honor of former AANS President Donald O. Quest, MD, FAANS, for his commitment to mentoring young neurosurgeons, this award is available to residents, fellows and medical students.

During the Young Neurosurgeon Research Forum, hosted each year during the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, a panel of neurosurgeons evaluate abstract presentations based on content and presentation style.

At the conclusion of the forum, Donald O. Quest Awards with prizes of $500 are presented in the following categories:

  1. Best basic science abstract from a resident or fellow
  2. Best basic science abstract from a medical student
  3. Best clinical abstract from a resident or fellow
  4. Best clinical abstract from a medical student

To qualify, submit a scientific abstract for the upcoming AANS Annual Scientific Meeting.

Thank you to the Columbia University Department of Neurological Surgery for their generous contribution to the Donald O. Quest Honor Your Mentor Fund. Their gift honors the great legacy of Dr. Quest and augments the permanent Fund dedicated to supporting the Quest Research Awards.
